• What Is Folkestone Film, TV and Comic Con?

FFCC is Folkestone’s only Film, TV and comic convention. Our show floor plays host to actors from Film and Tv, new and retro comics,graphic novels, costumers, props and comic, film and television related memorabilia. Our Q & A and autograph sessions give fans a chance to interact with their favourite actors and creators.

 

• When Is FFCC?

Sunday 7th May 2017. Doors open at 10:00am

• Where Is FFCC?

FFCC is held at the Leas Cliff Hall, The Leas, Folkestone, CT20 2DZ

​

• Can I book a Parking Space?

No sorry, parking is not provided by this venue. However, they are many pay at the machine car parks and street parking nearby.

• Can I book a Blue Badge space in the Car Park

No sorry parking is not provided by this venue. Standard laws and regulations apply to those using a Blue Badge.

• Who Needs A Ticket?

Everyone five years or over must have a ticket to enter FFTCC. Please note, FFTCC recommends all children under 18 attend with an adult, and all children under 11 must attend FFTCC with an adult.

• Can you guarantee my favourite actor will be at the event as advertised?

Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee the attendance of any of our actors/exhibits/traders or guest but we will advertise as soon as possible any changes to the line up.

• Can I Take Pictures?

For the most part, you're welcome to take still pictures and video, however, please note that all photography and recording of actors/guests/costumers must be with their permission.

We would like to point out that any actors present, may or may not pose for photographs with fans. Actors have a right to their privacy and if they ask not to have their picture taken, please respect their wishes.

• Will I Be On Camera?

By attending FFTCC you give your consent to be photographed and appear on camera.

• Will Guests Autograph Items?

Many actors will have an official signing slot allocated to or will be signing for most of the day. It is at an actors discretion whether they decide to charge a fee or to refuse to autograph items while sitting at their tables/booths.

Please note that it is left to the individual actors to decide if they wish to pose for photographs with fans and to limit the number of items to be signed. During the official Signing Sessions, FFTCC reserves the right to limit the amount of autographs dependant on time scale and queues.

• Weapons Policy

Please read this entire policy before attending FFTCC. Failure to follow this policy may result in your removal from the convention without refund.

If you're bringing, buying or selling something that could maim, damage or cause serious bodily harm, we're going to take issue. The following items are forbidden at FFTCC.

1.      Functional firearms (including air soft guns, BB guns, cap guns, paintball guns and pellet guns)

2.      Realistic replica firearms (including reproduction, fake or toy guns that can be confused for functional firearms)

3.      Functional projectile weapons (including blow guns, crossbows, long bows, silly string, slingshots, water balloons and water guns)

4.      Sharpened metal-bladed weapons (including axes, daggers, hatches, knives, kunai, shuriken, swords, sword canes and switch blades inc. metal Wolverine claws.)

5.      Explosives (including firecrackers and fireworks)

6.      Chemical weapons (including mace and pepper spray)

7.      Blunt weapons (including brass knuckles, clubs and nunchaku)

8.      Hard prop weapons (including props made of metal, fiberglass and glass)

9.      Instruments that cause excessive noise levels like vuvuzelas, grenade whistles and grenade horns

10.  Whips

11.  Aerosol mustard

Prop weapons will be allowed providing they are composed of cardboard, foam, wood or other light materials. Prop firearms are allowed only if they cannot be mistaken for real weapons. The barrel of all prop firearms must be covered with brightly-coloured caps. Prop bows will be allowed providing all arrows have soft tips.

• Bootleg Policy

The buying and selling of counterfeit / knock-off / unlicensed materials is not tolerated at FFTCC. Violation of this rule will result in one and only one warning. A second violation and you'll be removed from the show.

• Is There A Cloakroom?

No, there is no cloakroom available at FFTCC. If you are coming in costume and require changing facilities please contact FFTCC directly prior to the event at planetfolkestone@gmail.com. (Limited space is available to those who contxt Planet Folkestone in advance)

• Can I Bring My Pet?

No, the only exception are guide-dogs for the visually impaired.

• What happens if I lose my Child (or lose my parent/guardian)?

Please locate a Planet Folkestone Organiser or Volunteer if you need assistance or if one is not easily spotted please go to the reception desk near the front doors.

 

• Can You Watch My Kids?

No. We do not provide child care services at this time.

• How do the virtual tickets work?

On the day we will have named and numbered tickets for certain actors, if you would like to meet these actors or get an autograph grab a ticket and keep an eye on the white boards next to there booths. When your number is advertised you can join the queue. We will have queue monitors allocated to ensure that this system works and that queue jumping is avoided to make it fair to all.

• How do I get to your event?

We have created some easy to follow directions located under the Folkestone Film, TV and Comic Con (FFTCC) which shows the best driving route and easy walking routes from local train and bus stations.

• Remember To Be Nice!

Please turn your mobile phones off or to vibrate when you're in any Q&A Sessions. If you must take or make a call, please step outside.

• Refunds

Please note that all tickets are non refundable unless the event is cancelled. FFTCC is a 100% non profit event that raises funds for chosen charities.

• Harassment Policy

We pride ourselves upon the Folkestone Film, TV and Comic Con ("FFTCC") being a safe place, where everyone is welcome to come together and have fun irrespective of their background. Even so, certain kinds of offensive or harassing behaviour will not be tolerated. To the best of our ability, we intend to eliminate inappropriate conduct from the convention.

Harassment of any kind, which includes behaviour which is physically or verbally intimidating, annoying, unwelcoming attentions, stalking, pushing, shoving or the use of physical force; which in any way creates a disturbance that is disruptive or dangerous in our opinion, as well as any boisterous, lewd or generally offensive behaviour or language, using sexually explicit or offensive language or conduct, or profanity, obscene gestures or racial, religious or ethnic slurs will all be considered harassment.

If another convention attendee makes it clear that your attention or behaviour is unwelcome then your business with them is at an end. If you continue to attempt to have contact with this person, you may be removed from the premises and your pass revoked.

 

Please be aware: "No" really does means no. "Stop" means stop. "Go away" means go away.

Costuming is not to be taken as consent for inappropriate conduct or comments. Please exercise common sense, if you wish to take someone's photograph it is common courtesy to ask their permission first.

We have taken steps to make it easier to report instances of such behaviour. It is very important that if you feel you are being harassed or threatened that you report it immediately. We cannot address anything that we are not made aware of and we need whatever details can be provided, such as names and any other descriptive information as soon as practical.

 

If you feel you have been harassed please find the nearest FFTCC organiser or volunteer. All organisers and volunteers can be easily recognized by their “Organiser” or “Volunteer” Lanyard. Alternatively, please go to the Academies reception at the entrance of the building and ask for an organiser to assist you. All such reports will be treated very seriously.

 

As an attendee, if you see someone being harassed or the subject of inappropriate photography, we would encourage you to speak up and draw attention to this unacceptable behaviour. As a community, we need to come together, look out for one another, and make sure everyone is treated with respect.

 

FFTCC reserves the right to revoke or suspend passes/entry. If an individual breaks the rules of the convention, he or she may be barred from the convention. If an individual has broken the law the police will be called. If you have been accused of harassment and feel that you were treated unfairly you may appeal to the organisers, but their decision will be final.
